Preferences - File Uploads

File upload steps let requesters attach files to a request, such as supporting documents, quotes, or contracts. Use the File Uploads preference page to select the module that handles file uploads and to define upload policies that control how many files requesters can upload, how large those files can be, and which file types are allowed.

Default Upload Files Variants

Select the module that handles file upload steps. This module is used whenever a step in the request process requires requesters to upload files, including the Document Extraction step.

This is a core module, configured to use the Solution Preferences. Overriding a core module may cause some Preference configurations to become obsolete. Update with caution.

Upload Files Policies

Upload files policies define the rules applied to a file upload step, such as the minimum and maximum number of files, file size limits, and allowed file types.

Add and Configure Upload Files Policies

To create and configure an upload files policy, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Upload Files Policies table, scroll to the bottom of the table and select the Create Row button, preference-table-create-row.png. The Create Row window displays.

  2. Configure by entering values for the relevant fields:

Remember, you can select the insert field button, insert_field.png, to add dynamic values.

    1. Name (Required) - Enter a descriptive name for the upload files policy.

    2. Minimum # of Files - Enter the minimum number of files the requester must upload. If set to 0, uploading files is optional. Default: 0.

    3. Maximum # of Files - Enter the maximum number of files the requester can upload. Leave empty to not impose a limit.

    4. Maximum Individual File Size (MB) - Enter the maximum size, in megabytes, of each uploaded file. Leave empty to not impose a limit.

    5. Maximum Total File Size (MB) - Enter the maximum combined size, in megabytes, of all files uploaded in the step. Leave empty to not impose a limit.

    6. Allowed File Types - Enter the file types requesters can upload, as comma-separated file extensions or MIME types. For example, pdf, docx, image/*. Leave blank to allow all file types.

  3. When finished, select Create. The upload files policy is created.
